Course Content

An NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care is made up of 8 units. All candidates must complete all mandatory units, and select an additional 4 units from the optional modules. This will include:

Mandatory Units for NVQ 4 in Care:

• NVQ in Care 4 41: Use and develop methods and systems to communicate record and report.
• NVQ in Care 4 42: Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practises
  in the working environment.
• NVQ in Care 4 43: Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others.
• NVQ in Care 4 45: Develop practises which promote choice, well being and protection of all individuals.

Programme Info

The National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in Health and Social Care are available at different levels to support career progression and to meet the national minimum standards as regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Anyone in a position of care within a residential home, who has completed an NVQ in care at the previous level, or is entering thfe profession in a senior caring role may want to study for an NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care to work effectively as a Manager Of a care team.

The NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care qualification is made up of units that specify the knowledge and performance required of service providers to affect care within their roles. The NVQ 4 in Care is focused toward the management and delivery of care with the support of others, and will be accountable in the area of practise. It is designed to teach the techniques involved in management and delivery of physical, emotional or enabling care to service users. NVQ 4 in care Candidates are expected to have complete autonomy and will be required to make decisions within boundaries and limits agreed with their team.

The NVQ 4 in care units are made up of mandatory, optional and additional units. You will need to achieve a combination of these in order to achieve your 4 NVQ in care award.

NVQ 4 in care is aimed at Domiciliary Carers, Carers working within management and deputy management positions.

Course payment plan for your NVQ 4 in Care:

In addition to the standard NVQ 4 in care fee, Wave operate an easy payment plan to help spread the cost of the NVQ 4 in care programme for you. An initial administration fee of £200 and deposit of £300 including VAT is made, followed by 4 monthly instalments of £198.21 including VAT.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion you will be awarded an NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care certified through the awarding body. All successful NVQ 4 in care certifications are subject to an external verification process conducted by the awarding body. NVQ 4 in care Certificates are typically delivered to the student within 10 weeks of certification.

Where sufficient evidence can be provided, certificates can be issued for Additional 4 Health and Social Care units. While these units cannot be used towards the NVQ 4 in care qualification, the certificates issued may benefit the candidate for future roles and responsibilities.
