Programme Info
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) in Health and Social Care are available at different levels to support career progression and meet the national minimum standards as regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Anyone in a position of responsibility within a care setting, who has completed an NVQ in care at the previous level, or is entering the profession in a senior caring role may want to study for a NVQ 3 in care to work effectively as a senior member of a care team.
The NVQ 3 in care is unique as this qualification can also be suited to Caring for teenagers, children and babies depending on the units you choose to study. The NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care is made up of units that specify the knowledge and performance required of service providers to affect care within their roles. The main focus of the NVQ 3 in Care, is in delivering physical, emotional or enabling care to clients, whether they work in health or social care, or in the public, private or voluntary sectors.
The NVQ 3 in care is designed to be applicable to candidates who will be delivering care, often without direct supervision requiring a degree of responsibility and autonomy, making decisions within set boundaries previously agreed with their team.
This NVQ 3 in health and social care qualification can also reflect a higher level of specialisation depending on the units chosen when compared to the previous level. The NVQ 3 in care units are made up of mandatory, optional and additional units. You will need to achieve a combination of these in order to achieve your level 3 NVQ in care award.
