Your Responsibilities:
- The employer agrees to offer the student a minimum of 15 hours work per week for their work placement.
- The employer may offer the student additional part-time, casual ad hoc hours. These hours MUST NOT EXCEED 20 per week, subject to the student visa restrictions and term-time obligations.
- The student working time restrictions do not apply out of term-time. The curriculum term for candidates will be notified to you on an annual basis.
- The student must not work more than 20 hours hours in any one week during term-time, excluding their work placement. Employers may be liable for a £10,000 fine and/or up to a 2 year imprisonment for breaching this legislation.
- The work our students do, must not fill a role that would otherwise be a full-time permanent vacancy.
- The employer will provide a meaningful work experience that will aid the student in meeting the learning objectives specified in the learning plan and offer opportunities to the candidate to undertake the responsibilities necessary for completion of their course.
- The students are aware that the employer can ask them to perform tasks/duties routinely undertaken by care staff e.g. cleaning, cooking etc. The employer will ensure that the extent of the duties does not detract from the care related duties essential for the work placement and the achievement of the student qualification.
- The employer recognises that the overseas student programme is subject to statutory regulation by the UKBA. All existing or subsequent requirements set out by the UKBA must be complied with by all parties to this agreement.
- The employer agrees to notify Wave Training within 10 working days of any material change to the student’s circumstances. The notification of material change form must be completed and sent to Wave in accordance with the form instructions. Any change in reporting requirements will be notified to employers as they emerge. This timeframe is stipulated by the UKBA.
